Second Saturdays

2ND SATURDAY is for Members!

Opening at 8:00 a.m. for Members only.

On the second Saturday of each month at our main location in Hermann Park, HMNS will open one hour early for members only! See the museum’s permanent exhibitions—always free for members—before the crowds.

*Special Exhibits, Wortham Giant Screen Theatre, Cockrell Butterfly Center, and the Burke Baker Planetarium are not included in early access.

November 9, 2024 – McGovern Hall of the Americas

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Join us for a special celebration of the McGovern Hall of the Americas this Second Saturday! Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture as our knowledgeable docents guide you through the exhibits and answer all your questions. Visit our craft table in Glassell Hall and test your skills with a basket weaving activity—start your craft with us and continue at home, inspired by the artistry of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe.

Stay for the festivities! From 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., enjoy an exciting Alabama-Coushatta dance demonstration and more cultural experiences to keep the celebration going!
