PERMANENT EXHIBITION
Hall of Ancient Egypt
Uncovering the Mysteries of a Fascinating Civilization
Explore the Nile River, Daily Life, and Funerary Practices of Ancient Egyptians
Spanning over 10,000 square feet, the Hall of Ancient Egypt provides a glimpse into ancient Egyptian culture starting with the pivotal role played by the Nile River and other aspects of daily life. The fashion and sophistication of ancient Egyptian society can be seen through artifacts such as jewelry and other vanity objects, crafts, tools and weapons.
Death and religion — represented by amulets, statues, animal mummies, canopic jars and other funerary items — were the focus of ancient Egyptians as individuals strove for the afterlife. The final gallery showcases decorated coffins and sarcophagi as well as preserved mummies from the Old Kingdom (2500 BC) to the Roman era (200 AD).
The Hall of Ancient Egypt is generously supported by Apache Corporation and Paula and Rusty Walter.
