Girl Scouts

Girl Scout summer classes are for girls in grades Kindergarten and up and provide an interactive and fun look into scientific fields. We are offering classes written specifically for Daisies (K-1st grade), Brownies (2nd and 3rd grade), Juniors (4th and 5th grade), Cadettes (6th through 8th grade) and Seniors (9th and 10th grade). Note: Badges completed indicated in italics.

Girl Scout and Journey Classes

Brownies and Daisies Sugar Land Trails
(Four-Day Class, June 16-18 and 20 at Sugar Land)
Girls will receive HMNS Dinosaur Patch and strip patch for each of the five trails.

HMNS exclusive! Explore insects, dinosaurs, and the depths of the Earth. Conduct science experiments, and discover our Texas wildlife!

 

Brownies and Daisies Trails
(Five-Day Class, June 9-13 at Hermann Park)

Girls will receive HMNS Dinosaur Patch and strip patch for each of the five trails.

HMNS exclusive! Discover the cultures and customs of ancient Egyptians and the Indigenous peoples of North America. Uncover unique adaptations of African wildlife and insects as well as exploring and the wonders of space.

 

Brownie and Daisies Tiny TRAILS
(Four-Day Class, June 30-July 3 at Hermann Park)

Girls will receive HMNS Dinosaur Patch and strip patch for each of the three trails.

HMNS exclusive! Explore the history of Earth from dinosaurs to gems. Discover the diversity of our Texas wildlife!

 

Brownie Engineers
(Five-Day Class, July 21-25 at Hermann Park)

Badges earned: Think like an Engineer Journey, Race Car Challenge, Leap Bot Design Challenge and Fling Flyer Challenge

Brownies will explore what engineers do, while designing a race car, leap bot and a fling flyer.  Girls will earn there Think like an Engineer journey and do their Take Action Project at the museum.

 

Juniors Techno-Investigators
(Five-Day Class, July 21-25 at Hermann Park)

Badges earned: Art and Design, Detective, Digital Photographer, Entertainment Technology, and Geocatcher

Discover the science of forensic investigation and participate in a scavenger hunt using a GPS.  Explore art through designing pieces, photography and special effects.

 

Mechanical Juniors
(Four or Five-Day Class, June 30-July 3 at Hermann Park and July 7-11 at Sugar Land)
Badges earned: Think like an Engineer Journey, Balloon Car Design Challenge, Crane Design Challenge and Paddle Boat Design Challenge

Juniors will explore the engineering process, while designing a balloon car, crane, and a paddle boat. Girls will earn their Think Like an Engineer journey and do their Take Action Project at the museum.

 

aMUSE Juniors Journey
(One-Day Class, June 12 at Hermann Park)

Juniors will discover the many roles women can accomplish in the world.  Take Action Project included.

 

Juniors Agent of Change Journey
(One-Day Class, June 13 at Hermann Park and May 29 at Sugar Land)

Badges earned: Agent of Change Journey

Discover your own talents and learn about the women who have shaped the world we live in. Take Action Project included.

 

Juniors Citizen Scientist
(One-Day Class, June 4 at Hermann Park)

Citizen scientists are people who are curious about the world and want to make a difference. They volunteer to collect data and send it to scientists.

 

Cadettes Breathe Journey
(One-Day Class, July 1 at Hermann Park)

Badges earned: Breathe Journey

Work on your Breathe Journey award and create a Take Action Project to share with others.

 

Cadettes MEdia Journey
(One-Day Class, July 2 at Hermann Park and May 30 at Sugar Land)

Cadettes will examine today’s messages in the media with a critical eye.

 

Cadette Citizen Scientist

Seniors Sow What Journey

Seniors will explore the food network and how small daily choices of the food they eat have a big impact on the earth!
