Tuesday Rooftop Astronomy

Join HMNS astronomers for a guided tour of the night sky highlights. Meet on the 7th floor of the HMNS parking garage. This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice due to inclement weather or poor visibility.

Free admission. No ticket required. Open to the public.

  • February 4, 6-8 p.m. – Using the Moon to Find Planets
  • March 4, 6-8 p.m. – The Elusive Mercury and The Crescent Moon
  • April 8, 7-9 p.m. – The Moon and the Calendar
  • May 6, 7-9 p.m. – Mars in the Beehive & Catching an Aquarid
  • June 3, 7-9 p.m. – Clusters and Places on the Moon
  • July 8, 7-9 p.m. – Sun and Moon in Twilight
  • August 5, 7-9 p.m. – Double Stars and Moon Features
  • September 2, 7-9 p.m. – The Andromeda Legend
  • October 7, 6-8 p.m. – Exploring the Supermoon
  • November 4, 6-8 p.m. – Return of the Supermoon

Sundial Celebrations

Join HMNS astronomers for seasonal celebrations! Meet the group at the Cockrell Sundial at the museum entrance. This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice due to inclement weather or poor visibility.
